Out of the silence of lockdown, longtime friends and world-class musicians Tim Godwin and David Sheils found their way home—back to the songs that shaped them, moved them, and still move millions. The timeless music of James Taylor. What started as two friends reconnecting turned into Never Die Young—a full-force, high-energy tribute experience that’s quickly becoming unmissable.
This band brings serious firepower.
David Sheils has worked with icons like Chicago, Toto, Mary Travers, Tower of Power, Billy Vera, and Pat Benatar—and his songwriting has been recorded by legends Billy Preston and Freda Payne.
Tim Godwin adds decades of pro touring and studio experience with Air Supply, Laura Branigan, Shelby Lynne, and Tanya Tucker, plus TV and film credits including the Fox “Sunday Comics” house band.
Add the captivating vocals of Kylea Sheils and an all-star lineup of San Diego’s finest—Jim Reeves (bass), Josh Weinstein (keys), Bob Sale (drums), and Larry Grano (vocals, drums, percussion)—and you get a band that doesn’t just play the music… they live it.
