About this Event

The Nevada Legislature convenes February 1, and decisions made during the 120-day session will affect everything from education and healthcare to housing, taxes, voting rights, and more. But you don’t have to be a lobbyist or political insider to have a voice in what happens in Carson City.

What’s a BDR? What happens in committee? How do you follow a bill or find out how your legislator voted? And when is the right time to speak up?

Join us in January as we break down how the Nevada Legislature works, show you how to track the issues you care about, and explore practical ways to participate. Learn how to contact lawmakers, submit public comment, testify at a hearing, and make a clear, persuasive case for the issues that matter to you.

Come ready to turn “I should do something” into “I know what to do.”

Our meetings are free, but we do pay a discounted room rental fee. If you’re able, contributing $5–$10 per meeting (cash or Venmo) helps us keep meeting in this wonderful space. Thank you for making it possible!
