Neuromuscular Clinic Family Day Presents: School Navigation, Anti-Bullying, and FUN!

We are pleased to invite you to the final Neuromuscular Clinic family event of the year. This event is FREE and will be held in person at Holland Bloorview on May 15, 2025 at 6pm-8pm. There will be a chance to connect with other families, to hear from Toronto District School Board (TDSB) principals, Bloorview School representative, and Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC), and an opportunity to participate in arts-based, music, and robotics activities! Siblings are welcome!

School Navigation – Decipher the common acronyms like IPRC and IEP, and how your child may be supported from a special education perspective. Hear from and connect with an elementary and a high school TDSB principal, and a Bloorview School representative about the process and resources/supports available from a school perspective.

Anti-Bullying – MDC provides support and resources to families affected by neuromuscular disorders. Learn about educational and outreach resources they can offer to support your child and their siblings as they navigate challenging questions from their peers or adults. Learn about school board anti-bullying policies and initiatives. Holland Bloorview also provides similar services to support your family with navigating social challenges. Leave with a list of supports/resources available to you.

Recreational Activities – During the night, we will have different activities set up courtesy of the Holland Bloorview Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and Robotics teams. Your child and their siblings can try out different activities suited for all levels and abilities, and learn about what Holland Bloorview offers throughout the year.
