About this Event
Join us for a relaxed Neurodivergent Creative Writing Workshop with The Neurodivergent Gals Club — a low‑pressure, welcoming space for neurodivergent adults to explore creativity, storytelling and self‑expression ✍️✨
This session will gently explore what it means to be neurodivergent through writing. We’ll look at things like identity, memory, sensory experience, and how we move through the world, using prompts and exercises to help shape ideas into characters and stories.
We’ll also spend some time thinking about neurodivergent characters in fiction — how they’re portrayed, how they’re perceived, and how we might want to represent them in our own writing 💭📖
You don’t need any prior writing experience — whether you love to write, haven’t written in years, or just want to give it a go, you’re very welcome. You’re free to take part as much or as little as you like, and there’s no expectation to share your work unless you want to.
This is a low sensory session with soft lighting and a calm, supportive atmosphere. The space will be closed to the public and is fully wheelchair accessible. You’re very welcome to bring Loops, noise‑cancelling headphones, or any other sensory supports that help you feel comfortable.
There will also be a bar on site where you can buy soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and snacks throughout the session ☕🍹🍪
There’s no pressure to be productive or get anything “right”. You’re welcome to reflect, write, listen, observe, take breaks, or just be in the space in whatever way works for you. Everyone attending is understanding of neurodiversity — or keen to learn — and we work hard to keep the space kind, respectful and inclusive 💗
