Neurodivergence at Work
About this Event
Every workplace is neurodiverse.
Whether you know it or not, your organisation almost certainly employs people who are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, dyspraxic or have another neurodivergent profile. Yet many employers still feel uncertain about what this means in practice.
What are your legal responsibilities? What actually counts as a reasonable adjustment? How do you support performance without inadvertently discriminating? And with significant employment law changes now in force, are you confident your organisation is still legally compliant?
This full-day workshop brings together employment solicitor Philip from Precept with Sunshine Support's Chrissa Wadlow and Kelly Jarvis to provide practical, honest guidance for employers, HR professionals and senior leaders.
Throughout the day we'll explore:
• Understanding neurodivergence beyond ADHD and autism
• Executive functioning and how it affects workplace performance
• Communication differences, sensory needs, masking and burnout
• Recruitment, interviews and onboarding
• Performance management and sickness absence
• Reasonable adjustments that genuinely work
• Building psychologically safe workplaces
• Supporting managers to have confident conversations
• Avoiding common legal mistakes before they become costly
• Creating workplaces where every employee can contribute at their best
This is an honest, interactive workshop where questions are encouraged, myths are challenged and nobody is expected to get everything right first time. In fact, we actively encourage people to ask the questions they've always worried about asking, because that's how better workplaces are built.
Your ticket includes:
✔ Full-day workshop at Sunshine Support HQ, Derby
✔ Lunch and refreshments
✔ Free on-site parking, including EV charging
