Why neurodivergent people struggle with mental health, why therapy often fails us, and what actually helps.
About this Event

Neurodivergent people experience significantly higher rates of anxiety, depression, and burnout — but it can be hard to understand why, and harder still to know what to do about it.

In this talk, Dr Chris Worfolk explores the many reasons neurodivergent people struggle more with mental health: from sensory differences and masking to trauma, burnout, and a healthcare system that wasn't designed for us. He'll also look at what actually helps, both inside and outside the therapy room.

Dr Chris Worfolk is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and Principal Psychologist at Leeds Autism Practice. He is himself late-diagnosed. The event will include a talk followed by a Q&A.

Under 18s are welcome but please be aware the content is aimed at adults and may contain strong language.
