We are excited to announce our upcoming AAC pop-up event! October is International Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month. In the spirit of celebrating AAC and bringing awareness to multimodal communication, we have partnered with local SLPs and organizations to bring you this *FREE* event. Please see the details below.
What? An event offering virtual 1:1 AAC consults and live in-person group demonstrations on fun, creative, and interactive AAC topics.
- Live In-Person Demonstrations: Four 20-minute sessions of interactive group learning led by local allied healthcare providers centered around embedding multimodal communication and AAC into our everyday lives.
- Virtual 1:1 Consultations: 40 minutes of 1:1 support from licensed speech-language pathologists. The participating SLPs will be able to answer your individualized questions on troubleshooting, programming support, vocabulary selection/customization, how to provide or optimize aided language modeling, etc.
When? Sunday October 25th from 9:00AM - 4:00 PM
Where? In-person demonstrations will be held at AIM’s facility in Magnuson Park in Seattle. Free child-care will be available next door at Outdoors For All’s facility during the in-person demonstrations.
Who? This event is designed with the disability community in mind. Whether you or someone you know is already an AAC user or you are interested in learning more about how to embed multimodal communication in your lives, we welcome you!
