NEU Black Educators Conference (Wales)

We are delighted to invite all NEU Black educators across Wales to attend the Black Educators Conference in Cardiff. This is a fully funded event, with hotel accommodation and travel expenses covered in line with union guidelines.

This conference provides a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues, share experiences, and explore new ideas in an inclusive and supportive environment. The day will feature inspiring keynote speakers, engaging workshops, and dedicated networking opportunities designed to support professional development and celebrate the contributions of Black educators.

The conference will run from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, with refreshments available from 8:00 am. We encourage delegates to arrive early to enjoy refreshments and take the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across Wales before the conference begins.

Conference Highlights

This year’s theme, Equity Unlocked: Empowering the Journey from Potential to Progression, will explore how we can create equitable pathways for Black educators to thrive and progress throughout their careers. Attendees will hear from inspirational speakers who will share their experiences, insights, and strategies for overcoming barriers and achieving success. Through thought-provoking discussions and practical workshops, the conference will focus on leadership, career progression, representation, and building inclusive educational environments where talent and potential can flourish.
