With special guest Ahmed Obeidat, M.D., Ph.D.:
Dr. Obeidat explores the relationship between mind, brain and soul through both modern neuroscience and examines how contemporary science understands cognition, consciousness, and brain function, alongside how classical Muslim scholars, drawing on the Qur’an, Hadith, and philosophy, conceptualized the nafs, ʿaql, and rūḥ.
Presentation Description:
By placing scientific insights in dialogue with Islamic history and theology, the lecture will give us a deeper, integrated reflection on what it means to be human.
