Netse Mot is an inclusive gathering where people from all backgrounds can engage with and learn from Indigenous voices. Netse Mot – a Coast Salish phrase meaning “One Heart, One Mind” – emphasizes solidarity among all individuals.This event is more than just a celebration; it’s a movement toward healing, unity and mutual understanding.
The first Netse Mot, held in October 2024, welcomed 2,000 people in person with thousands more watching live online. This year’s Netse Mot coincides with The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) Fall Convening and is part of their official agenda. As this is NCAI’s first convention in the Pacific Northwest in over 40 years, we are even more excited about the opportunity to share Netse Mot with Tribes from around the country.
As we welcome our relatives to our homelands, we see this as an important opportunity to showcase Coast Salish culture and center our unique challenges to our local Native audience, non-Native supporters and NCAI guests. In addition to featuring Coast Salish talent, the show will include a variety of gifted Native artists.
