Herken je deze krachtige roep? Het komt uit de beroemde aria Nessun Dorma (Laat Niemand Slapen) uit Puccini’s opera Turandot. Deze aria, een symbool van liefde en wanhoop, wordt wereldwijd herinnerd dankzij Luciano Pavarotti’s legendarische vertolking met de iconische witte zakdoek.
Giacomo Puccini, de meesterlijke Italiaanse componist, heeft ons gezegend met een schat aan onvergetelijke opera’s. Tijdens onze voorstelling brengen we enkele van zijn meest iconische aria’s tot leven: O Mio Babbino Caro uit Gianni Schicchi, Che Gelida Manina uit La Bohème, het betoverende Humming Choir uit Madama Butterfly, en natuurlijk Nessun Dorma uit Turandot.
In lijn met de Opera Viva Festival-traditie, zullen deze prachtige aria’s worden verbonden door een meeslepend verhaal dat u zal raken. We hebben de eer om een getalenteerd ensemble te presenteren: sopraan Elenora Hu, winnares van het TV-programma ARIA in 2021, tenor Eric Reddet, bekend van zijn deelname aan het TV-programma Maestro, en pianist Aliya Iskhakova, die de muzikale begeleiding verzorgt. Tevens zal Annemieke Jansen optreden als verteller, die de verhalen en emoties van Puccini’s muziek op een bijzondere manier tot leven zal brengen.

Does this powerful cry sound familiar? It’s from the famous aria Nessun Dorma (None Shall Sleep) from Puccini’s opera Turandot. This aria, a symbol of love and despair, is globally remembered thanks to Luciano Pavarotti’s legendary performance with the iconic white handkerchief.
Giacomo Puccini, the masterful Italian composer, has blessed us with a treasure trove of unforgettable operas.
