🌅🔋Have you heard of organic solar cells? 🌞
Come to this talk to learn about the use of solar cells in the world, how electrical current is generated from the Sun, and get an introduction to a new, greener, and colorful technology of solar cells: the organic solar cells based on carbon-based materials.
Before GPS satellites and digital charts guided ships across the oceans, sailors relied on the oldest navigation tool of all — the sky. Astronomical navigation is both an art and a science: a blend of precision, patience, and wonder. It connects us to the great explorers who once charted unknown seas, guided only by the same stars that shine above us tonight.

🌍🚨Why can’t we predict earthquakes ?💥
On 26 December 2004, a magnitude 9.2 earthquake struck the western coast northern Indonesia which was followed by a Tsunami that led to heavy casualities in 14 countries! The earthquake and the resulting tsunami took lives of ~ 230,000 people in the affected countries, majorly due to the lack of infrastructure and awareness. Every large earthquake like this refuels the discussion on earthquake prediction, a term that still leaves people confused of what it actually means. There is also a general lack of awareness about questions like - How do earthquakes actually occur? Where do they occur? And Why do some earthquakes become so large while others are barely detectable? In this talk, we will tackle these questions using examples from all over the world and debunk the myth behind earthquake prediction.
About the presenter : Saksham is a 2nd-year PhD student at Institut de Physique de Paris studying geophysics, specifically earthquakes. He has a double masters degree in solid earth sciences and now he is pursuing his academic interests forward. With a very goofy personality, he likes to make lame jokes and annoy people in his free time.
👩🔬For the third presentation, Ananya Aravind will tell us about their work in immunology !
