Neponset Greenway Bike Tour + Art Activation

Join us for a group bike ride along the Neponset River Greenway followed by artmaking at Victory Road Park. We will make several stops along the Greenway at iconic sites in Mattapan and Dorchester to learn about the rich history along the Neponset River. Refreshments will be served at the terminal point, along with music and a relaxing art activity. Our intention is to offer a restorative experience that incorporates physical activity, creative expression, and reconnection with nature and local history in our neighborhood. This event is ideal for adults ages 18+.

Presented by Art & Soul Clinic, Neponset River Watershed Association, and Boston Harbor Now.

Date: Sunday August 9 @ 2PM - 5PM

• 2:00PM sharp: Bike tour leaves Mattapan Station
• 3:30PM: Arrive at Victory Road Park - Water, food, and refreshments available while supplies last.
• 4:00PM: Art Activation - Live DJ and art activities
• 5:00PM Event closes

Meeting Point: MBTA Red Line Mattapan Station (500 River St, Boston, MA 02126)

Terminal Point: Victory Road Park (208 Victory Rd, Dorchester, MA 02122)

Bike Route: We will enjoy a casual-paced bike ride as a group along the Neponset River Greenway from Mattapan Station to Victory Road Park.

• This route is about 5 miles in distance and casual-paced. We will take short breaks along the route to engage with tour sites, hydrate, and access a restroom.
• The event will end before sundown where everyone is free to disperse, but we will support any bike riders who are returning to Mattapan or taking public transit (nearest MBTA Red Line stop is Ashmont).

Reminders:

• Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in and get ready to ride!
• You must bring a bicycle to ride - bring your own or rent a Blue Bike at the nearest location (Mattapan Station). Consider checking the Bluebike app ahead of time for bike availability. Stay tuned for a promo code for a free ride!
• Helmets are Required. Your safety matters to us.

• The collaborative artmaking session will take place at Victory Road Park (free parking on site) and you are welcome to meet us there if you prefer to skip the bike ride!
