Nephrostomy Seminar
The National Nephrostomy Care Campaign aims to highlight the importance of good nephrostomy management to improve patient well being and reduce complications. To promote best practice and standardise care.
The campaign is still in the early stages and needs the support of everyone involved with nephrostomies to ensure the best possible outcome.
This seminar will highlight process of change to improve nephrostomy care at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust including evidence base. It is also an oppertunity to discuss/highlight practices at your institution.
Provisonally the program includes:
11am: Introduction and Welcome
11:05am: Indication/Insertion of Nephrostomy, Dr A Gangahar (Consultant Interventional Radiologist)
11:20am: Nephrostomy – The MYTT Experience, M Lonsdale (Specialist IR Radiographer)
11:35am: Neph Drainage systems – Impact on Patient QoL, Dr M Parovic (Radiology ST3)
11:50am: BSIR/BSUR National Survey – Neph Drainage systems, Dr F Shameem (Consultant Uroradiologist)
12:00pm: Neph Care/Open Access Clinic – The Orphans Story, E Geddes (Lead IR Sister)
12:25pm: Patient’s Perspective
12:30pm: Sponsor and Q&A followed by lunch and hands on workstations
