About this Event

Join us for a special evening celebrating Sakela, the sacred folk dance of the Rai people of Nepal.

Sakela is a communal ritual dance that embodies belonging, identity, and intergenerational memory — a living tradition that continues to shape Rai cultural life today.

This event celebrates traditions that transcend generations and offers a unique opportunity to connect with Nepali heritage and appreciate the role of folk arts in preserving cultural identity. A talk with two members of the Rai community will be followed by a video demonstration, a discussion and food.

  • Doors from 18:00
  • Talk 18:30
