ABOUT US
Northeast Pennsylvania Women In Film & Television, also known as NEPAWIFT, is a diversified and inclusive 501c3 nonprofit, a local chapter of Women in Film & Television, supported by the National organization of over 10,000 members –
we welcome all genders and are uniting all Women, those who identify as Women, those that employ, hire and work with Women and those that support Women in their career advancement and success in the film, broadcast television, streaming and new media industries in Northeast Pennsylvania and the Pocono Regions.
We connect, educate, and advocate and advance the careers of women and marginalized groups to accelerate diversity of those working in media and screen industries, to achieve parity and transform culture.
Our History
In 1973, Tichi Wilkerson Kassel, publisher and editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter, founded Women in Film in Los Angeles.
WIFT is a global network with over 10,000 members in the U.S. and more than 40 chapters worldwide that promotes the professional development and achievements of women in movies, film, video, television and digital media.
Our Outreach
Our goal is to organize and connect all professional Northeast PA producers, directors, writers, talent, cast & crew, film commissions, media groups and factions, students and mentors, in the film, television and new media industries, be they above or below the line, studio level or independent.
This is the only way for us to instill confidence in the region by the studio system.
