Specifying Earth - A Designer's Introduction to Earth Building

This 1-day workshop covers the art and science of utilizing raw earth as a versatile sustainable building material in Aotearoa NZ (yes, we will talk about earthquakes, driving rain and energy efficiency!)

Gain insight into various earth building techniques, understand the unmatched benefits of earth as a building material, familiarise yourself with the internationally acclaimed NZ earth building standards, develop innovative earth led design ideas for both new and existing buildings and get, and embodied sense of the materials - both in theory and hands-on.

You will leave with material samples that showcase the range of possibilities, and hopefully a budding passion for Earth.
