About this Event
The second workshop in the Heritage Toolbox: North East Lincolnshire programme focuses on building inclusive creative communities. Exact location for workshop 2 is TBC but will be happening in Grimsby.
Heritage, culture, and community projects thrive when they are relevant, accessible, and shaped by the people around them. In this interactive session, we’ll explore practical ways to broaden participation, remove barriers, and build meaningful relationships with diverse audiences and communities.
Delivered by Heritage Lincolnshire and the Heritage Network, this workshop combines practical tools, discussion, and examples from around the UK to help you embed inclusion into your work. It is part of five workshops commissioned by Create North East Lincolnshire supporting heritage, community, and culture organisations across the region in 2026.
What you’ll gain:
- Practical, actionable learning about the core ingredients needed to make heritage, community, and cultural projects in North East Lincolnshire a success
- Expert insights, case studies, and guest speakers from a range of projects, sites, and organisations, brought together by the UK’s Heritage Network and Heritage Lincolnshire .
- A range of resources, recommendations, and 1:1 support from the Heritage Network and Heritage Lincolnshire teams, to help you take what you’ve learned and put it into action. This session will include a presentation on the resources available to you through Sector Support in North East Lincolnshire.
- Time to reflect on your goals and priorities, in a supportive space where we can explore challenges, opportunities, and best practice.
- Opportunities to connect with others working across North East Lincolnshire on projects like yours.
Who Is This Programme For:
Whether you’re managing a heritage site, driving forward a community project, or simply passionate about the region’s history, this is a valuable opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate. This programme has been designed especially for:
- Not-for-profit heritage organisations and community groups
- Cultural, creative, or community organisations who have found themselves working from historic buildings or spaces - where heritage might not have been part of your work, mission, or objectives so far
- Staff teams, trustees, and volunteers
- Heritage professionals and practitioners
- People involved in caring for, managing or advocating for heritage in North East Lincolnshire
