Join us for a Neighborhood Walk & Talk - an event in which we (residents) gather to observe the state of the sidewalks and the overall design of streets as they walk through the community. Sometimes called a “Walk Audit,” these walks help us determine where our streets could be more comfortable, safe, accessible, and inviting to people outside of cars, and what we as residents can do to improve them! Here are the event details:
Place: The Charles Restaurant - meet at the Love Big. Live Small. La Plata mural (on the right side of the building if looking from Charles St. address is 505 Charles St)
Date: October 25th
Time: 11:00am-12:00pm
Our Strong Towns Monthly Meeting will be held at 12pm at the benches/tables in front of La Plata Smoothie & Energy Bar, just a few steps away from The Charles. Feel free to join us after the walk!
The walk will be about 2 miles at a leisurely pace, and we will likely stop to talk about things we see along the way. This walk is on a mixture of asphalt pavement and concrete sidewalks. Route should have curb cuts and be generally accessible for people rolling. 👩🏽🦼➡️👨🏿🦽➡️
