Enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood while getting to know the many places we have and how local groups are working to improve them. Each walk is a loop that takes 30-60 minutes at a modest pace and includes a place to get a treat. We will meet as a group, walk, observe the local urbanism, and discuss what we see.Meet at Ambler Train Station. 35 West Butler, Ambler, PA 19002, at the ground-level crossover on Butler Pike. Parking (paid) is available in the lot. Transit access via Regional Rail and the 95 bus.
Route: Walk northeast on Butler Ave (optional: stop in at Backyard Beans). Turn right on Park Ave, walk southeast until it ends at Spring Garden. Turn right, walk northeast on Spring Garden, left on Poplar, right on Main St, back to Butler. Total distance 1.6 miles, includes some hills and street crossings. Approx 30 minutes.
Local places of interest: Shops and general urbanism along Butler Ave. Size of SEPTA parking lot. Types of housing further out from Butler Ave.
