The New England Gilbert & Sullivan Society (NEGASS) invites you to a free, informal open mic event on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM at University Lutheran Church (66 Winthrop Street in Harvard Square). Individuals and groups are invited to sing G&S songs and/or suggest ensemble numbers or Bab Ballads that fit the theme of “Love Blighted and Unrequited” (as so many G&S songs do). Dr. John Dreslin of the Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society will accompany on piano. He knows every song in the book, but requests that we each bring our own music.
If your song involves a choral response, we’ll be your chorus; if you want to be part of a small ensemble, we’ll match you up with others. For those desiring small ensemble singing, long-time NEGASS member Marion Leeds Carroll’s G& S ensembles list (https://leedscarroll.com/GSEnsembles.html) may be a source of inspiration.
