Needle Felting Workshop: Seasonal Snowman
About this Event
We will start by learning the basic techniques of needle felting by working on a small sample piece. You will then make a snowman decoration choosing from a range of materials. There will be the option to buy needle felting kits at the end of the workshop if you so wish.
All materials will be provided on this course which is suitable for all abilities. This course is for ages 16+.
The workshop is part of Eddington Arts which is also at the Storey's Field Centre and runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Before the workshop, you may like to help yourself to a complimentary drink and homebake from Eddie's Community Cafe and enjoy browsing and viewing the work of the 26 participating artists.
Originally from the Kent Coast, Annie relocated in 2003, to the edge of the Cambridgeshire Fens, where she took a Postgraduate in teaching through the University of Cambridge.
Whilst researching therapeutic activities for Cambridge Women’s Aid, Annie taught herself to needle felt, developing her own blending techniques, along with the use of unconventional materials. After an inspirational visit to Woolfest, Cumbria, hand-dyeing the wool became part of her practice. With her husband who is a stockman, Annie started a wool only flock of rare breed sheep, giving her a constant supply of different textures and natural colours.
