Needle Felting: Enchanting Hummingbird

In this two-part class, needle felting enthusiasts will dive into the details of creating an enchanting hummingbird, and its beautiful flowers, displayed flying in mid-air.
Over the course of two sessions on Tuesday, August 11, and Tuesday, August 18, participants will learn or review basic needle felting skills, learn how to felt wool to create 3-dimensional projects, and learn how to use hand carding to blend colors, giving a realistic appearance to our hummingbirds.
Final projects will be approximately 8 inches across by 8 inches high. Participants will also take home any unused wool, extra needles in a safety storage tube, a reusable storage container, a felting mat, and a reusable carrying tote for your felting supplies.
Class Note: Please bring multi-needle handles if you have them.

Community Instructor: Iva Jean Kristek
For ten years, Iva Jean has been making original needle felted creations. Every class project is created solely by Iva Jean. Even when she was working full time in a non related field, she found needle felting to be a very relaxing pastime. Iva Jean has used her experiences living in 3 different states to expand her needle felting knowledge, which led to her being a member of an artisan group where she made and sold her creations. Iva Jean now enjoys sharing with others this fun and relaxing artform.
