On Saturday 21st September, we'll be in Boston's Market Place again for another Flyway Trail activity day!
Have a go at needle-felting a 2D feather with local Boston-artist Jane Kay. After having a go at this relaxed, mindful activity you'll be able to take your feather home.
The Transported team will show you how to create bespoke bird-themed prints too. Using relief printmaking techniques with ink, make two prints with designs inspired by birdlife that you can home and contribute one to a community collection.
If you fancy adding some colour to your Saturday, artist Imogen Joyce Designs has created Flyway Trail colouring-in sheets! You can have a go there at the stall or take your sheets home. Make sure you share your creations with us by tagging @transportedart on social media.
The activities are a part of the creative programme for The Flyway Trail, a new series of wall-based artworks located in Lincolnshire across Boston, the coast and the Wolds, celebrating the nature in the county’s landscape.
The name of the trail also takes inspiration from nature. A ‘flyway’ is the regular route of migrating bird, and chosen for the name of the artwork collection not only because of the intended wildlife content but also because it references the themes of journeys, home and locality.
One of the key sites and partners of the project, the Frampton Marsh reserve, is also on the flyway route or the destination for many migrating birds.
No registration is needed and it is open to all ages —just come along, find the Transported Gazebo and join the fun! Explore your artistic side, connect with the community, and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of The Flyway Trail.
