Needle Felted Creatures (Stabby Stab)
About this Event
Let's do some needle felting! Or "stabby stab" as well like to call it.
Students will learn the basic techniques of needle felting (aka "stabby stab") in this hands-on workshop. Using a barbed needle to poke wool we will make fantastical critters (or cursed ones) to give to a friend, rest on a shelf, or more! Students will also learn what supplies are needed, the different types of needles and wool, etc.. should they choose to continue to explore this stabby art form at home! All materials provided, no experience necessary.
Our Instructor - J Hann is currently the Puppeteer in Residence at Museum of Art and Design. They have taught puppetry and fiber arts classes to students of all ages for the past fifteen years, at George Mason University, The University of Connecticut, Museum of Arts and Design, Arts Connection, The Jim Henson Foundation, Museum of the Moving Image, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, JCC Manhattan and YM and YWHA of Washington Heights.
