Needle Felt Workshop hosted by Ayrin Gharibpour (9/13)
About this Event
Painting with Wool
In this workshop you'll learn how to create 2D artwork using wool and a felting needles, building up a scene layer by layer, blending colors and adding details just like a painting, but entirely in wool. It's a really satisfying way to bring your drawings and ideas to life using nothing but colorful fibers and needles.
No sewing, no glue needed. Just bring your creativity.
What you'll learn:
- How to lay and blend wool to build a background
- How to create shapes, florals, and fine details with your needle
- How to shade and add depth using wool
- Color and composition basics for fiber art
- How to translate your own drawings and ideas into wool
Everything is provided — wool in a range of vibrant colors, felting needles, foam pad, a felt sheet that will serve as your canvas, and all supplies are included. Just show up ready to make something beautiful.
This workshop is open to both beginners and those who already have some felting experience. If you've felted before, this is a great chance to push your skills further and explore the more painterly, illustrative side of the craft. You'll learn how to use wool almost like a brush — layering colors, shading, softening edges, and building up a scene with intention and detail. It's a slow, meditative process that's as enjoyable to make as it is to look at when it's done. You'll leave with a finished wool illustrated piece, handmade, full of color, and personal.
