Before the lights fade and the screen comes alive, there exists a story waiting to be told.
From the charm of vintage cinema to the evolution of modern filmmaking, films have carried emotions, ideas, and experiences across generations. The warmth of vintage storytelling, the beauty of classic visuals, and the power of moving images remind us that every story has the ability to connect, inspire, and remain timeless.
Following this vision, the Notre Dame Photography Club (NDPC) proudly presents the first-ever NDPC National Film Festival — a celebration of cinematic creativity inspired by the timeless essence of vintage cinema. This festival brings together filmmakers and creative minds to showcase their stories, explore their craft, and celebrate the art of filmmaking through Short Film, TVC, One Minute Reel, and Film Screening.
Segments
SHORT FILM
The essence of filmmaking lies in meaningful storytelling. This segment invites participants to showcase original short films that demonstrate creativity, direction, narrative strength, and cinematic expression.
Participants are encouraged to bring their unique ideas to life and create stories that leave a lasting impression.
If your film is selected for the final screening, a participation fee of BDT 300 per selected entry will be applicable.
TVC (Television Commercial)
A great commercial is more than just promotion; it is storytelling within a limited time. This segment challenges participants to create engaging advertisements that showcase creativity, concept development, visual direction, and storytelling.
If your TVC is selected for the final screening, a participation fee of BDT 300 per selected entry will be applicable.
ONE MINUTE REEL
A powerful story does not always require a long duration. This segment challenges participants to create a complete cinematic experience within one minute, focusing on creativity, storytelling, pacing, and impact.
If your reel is selected for the final screening, a participation fee of BDT 300 per selected entry will be applicable.
FILM SCREENING
Cinema is meant to be shared and experienced.
The Film Screening segment celebrates the timeless beauty of cinema by bringing audiences together to experience selected films in a nostalgic vintage-inspired atmosphere. It provides an opportunity to appreciate storytelling, filmmaking, and the emotions carried through every scene.
Event Details (Rules and Regulations)
By participating in the NDPC National Film Festival, participants agree to follow the rules and regulations set by the Notre Dame Photography Club (NDPC).
All submitted works must be original creations of the participant. Any form of plagiarism, copyright infringement, or unauthorized use of another person's work will result in disqualification.
NDPC reserves the right to screen, publish, and use selected films and submitted works for promotional, exhibition, and archival purposes with proper credit given to the creators.
Eligibility
Everyone and anyone can participate unless mentioned otherwise in the respective segment guidelines.
Judges
To be announced.
Deadline
The submission deadline for all segments is 28 September.
Selected participants and winners will receive certificates, recognition, prizes, and other festival memorabilia.
