The North Carolina Youth Orchestra partners with the Orchestra of the Carolinas to perform Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, “From the New World". Dr. Tara Villa Keith conducts the combined orchestras in a performance of this timeless work blending Dvořák's lyricism with inspirations from his experiences during his time in America. Premiered in 1893, the symphony evokes the vast American landscapes, folk melodies, and spirituals moving from bold, energetic rhythms to the beauty of its famous Largo.About the Orchestra of the Carolinas: Based in Davidson, North Carolina, the Orchestra of the Carolinas is the newest addition to the local music scene, dedicated to bringing people together through the power of music.
