The North Bucks Tractor Club will be having a Weekend event on the 12 / 13th September 2026 at Bourne End Farm, Wootton, Bedford, MK439AP.
Saturday 12th, working / play day from 12 midday onwards, just turn up with any implements to plough or cultivate
We aim to have a furrow open for Classic reversibles etc
Saturday evening, if anyone would like to camp over they may, also from around 7pm onwards a social gathering bbq etc please bring your own meats and drinks, hot plates be available for cooking. Cold veg and salads etc provided plus tea / coffee
Weather permitting we’ll be in field, if wet we can be in a barn
Sunday 13th, club ploughing match including area qualifier from 10am (entry form upon request). If possible we’ll leave space for cultivators etc ie play area for those not wishing to compete in match
Something new to us, we would like to offer members the opportunity on both days to see how fast their tractors can climb a short hill with a trailer, i.e. a drag race but one at a time. It will be entirely at the tractor driver/ owner’s risk. Our thoughts are to offer a small trailer for pickup hitches , a small flatbed trailer for ball hitches , one of our grain trailers for larger tractors with pick up hitch and or a larger dolly trailer. The larger tractors must have hydraulic trailer braking or at least a hydraulic spool to operate trailer brakes if needs be.
We aim to record the time it takes you between start and finish line from a standing start and enter that on a kind of leader board. This year it’s for a bit of fun with a donation for charity. If successful in future we could make more of an event / competition of it.
