About this Event

Sea Creatures Printing Day

Saturday 22nd August Naze Centre

You will have the opportunity to try two interesting and effective printing methods to produce simple images of sea creatures or sea weeds. You can bring your own sketches or source material or use those I have collected together. You will not need to bring anything else apart from an old shirt of pinny to stop ink getting on your clothes.

This booking is for the second session which is:

Linocut 13:30 - 15:30

A linocut is a relief printmaking technique where you will carved your design onto a sheet of linoleum using cutters  You will then use a roller to ink to the raised surfaces and press it onto paper. You should be able to to reproduce bold, graphic images many times using a spoon, bare or my linocut press. A mirror image of this design must be sketched onto the block or you will get  the design in reverse. We will only have time to produce single colour design.

If you wish to try intaglio printing in the morning as well, please book a seperate ticket to that part of the workshop.

£22 a ticket, per workshop (£44 for the full day).

Facilities at The Naze include café, shop, toilets, disabled toilets, baby changing and car park (fees apply).

Please read our event terms and conditions before booking your place.
