Kids will learn about the mysterious Nazca Lines, located in the very dry desert of Peru, which were created over 2,000 years ago and are visible only from high in the sky. They will discover the giant shapes, including a hummingbird, a monkey, a spider, and long straight lines, some stretching up to 1,000 feet. The children will also have the opportunity to become ancient artists by designing their own geoglyph to take home. Books about the Nazca Lines will be available for check out or to read in the library, allowing families to further explore and expand their knowledge of this fascinating topic. For ages 8-11. This program meets in the Tween Treehouse.
