Navigating Visibility Online: Algorithms, Confidence, and Digital Presence
About this Event
Many entrepreneurs rely on digital platforms such as social media and online marketplaces to reach customers and grow their business. But building a digital presence is rarely as simple as posting consistently and waiting for results.
Most digital platforms are governed by algorithms that influence what gets seen and by whom. As a result, the experience of trying to be visible online varies significantly. What’s more, the pressure to be visible can feel exposing, and can bring its own challenges: uncertainty about self-presentation, criticism, or maintaining personal boundaries.
This workshop gives you a practical and supportive space to make sense of all of this. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of how platform algorithms actually influence visibility, and with practical strategies you can use to improve your visibility on digital platforms while protecting your confidence, boundaries, and wellbeing online.
This workshop is led by Dr Beckie Ruddock, founder of The Ethical AI Project and Infinity Digital. Beckie ran her own digital marketing consultancy for 12 years, specialising in online visibility and social media, and brings PhD-level research to questions of how algorithms shape what gets seen, by whom, and why visibility doesn't always feel equal.
