Welcome to Bates NAUDC 2026! We are pleased to announce that Bates College will be hosting the North American Debating Championships 2026 in the beautiful state of Maine. The tournament will run from Friday, March 6th to Sunday, March 8th.
We are striving to make the tournament as competitive and accessible as possible and are working with a world-class CA team to ensure a balanced, fun, and stimulating motion set.

REGISTRATION
The participation fee per participants is set at $225.
We are enforcing a judging requirement of n-1.
We are aware that some non-US universities are imposing travel restrictions on teams seeking to compete within the United States. We are accordingly allowing non-US teams that can prove institutional bans on travel to compete online. Please submit relevant proof with the registration form. Since we want to ensure that Bates NAUDC 2026 remains a predominantly in-person tournament, we will only allow teams explicitely prohibited from travel to compete online. The reg fee for teams barred from traveling to the United States will be reduced by $60 per participant.
The deadline for Institutional Registration is Friday, January 23rd.
