In this series of very beginner-friendly classes, students will learn the basics of mixing and painting with watercolor paints in popular colors for nature drawings. Using just a few paints, we will focus on creating a range of nature-inspired colors using the three primaries of red, yellow and blue, as well as learning techniques for applying paint to paper. Each week will be dedicated to creating a range of hues within a color family: gorgeous greens, beautiful blues, vibrant reds and oranges, and luminous neutrals.Suggested supply list: A basic selection of watercolor pigments in red, yellow and blue hues (Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolor travel sets are great), a journal or pad of watercolor paper, size 8 and 10 round watercolor brushes, pencil, eraser and waterproof pen, such as a Pigma Micron size 08 marker.
Class size is limited, please register in advance
Registration includes four Friday dates: April 3, 10, 17 and 24
Registration closes Thursday, April 2 at 4:00pm
