Nature Wellness at Sonoma Garden Park

Join Sonoma Ecology Center and Sonoma County Ag + Open Space for a gentle, restorative Nature Wellness experience on June 20, 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Sonoma Garden Park. This guided experience is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, which means "forest bathing." Forest Bathing is the intentional practice of slowing down and immersing oneself in the sights, sounds, smells, and sensations of the natural world in order to restore wellbeing and deepen our relationship with nature. While walking at a relaxed pace and seated in community, a series of guided invitations will awaken the senses and encourage personal connection to the land.
The practice of Forest Therapy supports both personal and collective healing. Certified Forest Therapy Guide Susan Karle brings over a decade of experience guiding nature connection practices with people of all ages, and her approach integrates a background in grief and trauma work with a deep respect for the healing power of nature.
There is no charge for this outing, which is made possible by the voters of Sonoma County who fund the work of Ag + Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax.
Children ages 8-11 must be accompanied by an adult.
