Meet us by the skate park in Calder Holmes Park, where children and adults can explore the natural world around them with a fun family activity. Everyone will receive an illustrated field guide and their foraging bingo game, with plenty to spot and discover along the way.
Our walks follow a no pick, no eat approach. We don’t forage or eat wild food during the walk, although we will collect a small number of samples for children to look at and explore safely.
After the walk, we’ll head to Pen & Pearl for more nature-inspired fun, stories, music and a play session.
Bring along a packed lunch to enjoy in Calder Holmes Park or enjoy food to buy at Pen & Pearl. Every ticket, including adult tickets, includes an ice cream board with foraged blackberry syrup.
Part of Calderdale Festival of Food, taking place from 7-20 September.
This is a relaxed, family-friendly event with plenty of opportunities to connect with nature, play, explore and enjoy time together.
