Nature Unplugged Community Hike—May | Nature Unplugged Community hikes and events are a time to get together with old friends and make new ones. It’s a time to unplug from our devices, breathe in the fresh air and connect with the world around us. We’re committed to creating a community that values time outside, together—and that’s why we host these free, organized monthly hikes and events around San Diego.
While these hikes are offered at no cost, we do require registration. Your registration lets us know you're coming so that we can look for you at the trailhead. In advance of the hike, we'll also send you an email with helpful information including things like directions, parking tips, the weather outlook and what to bring.

ARRIVAL TIME

Please plan to arrive at 8:15 am. The hike will begin promptly at 8:30 am.

We'll be meeting at the parking lot for the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve.

HIKE DETAILS | Planning & Prep

We will be hiking the Blue Sky Canyon Trail. Head out on this 5.3-mile loop trail near Poway, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

ITEMS TO BRING

• Comfortable shoes to walk in
• Weather appropriate clothing
• Sun protection (Hat, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Lip balm with SPF)
• Water
• Snacks
• Trekking Poles (optional)
• Backpack (optional)
• Binoculars for wildlife/birding (optional)
