Nature through the Year Summer Sketchbook
About this Event
Nature through the year is a creative programme exploring the changing seasons through drawing, painting and mixed media.
Summer is a great time to create a sketchbook practice, developing a personal visual record of the summer landscape through observation, experimentation and reflection.
Led by professional contemporary artist Kate Hammersley, the course supports you to build confidence, deepen your observational skills and develop your own creative voice.
Each term focuses on a different season in the landscape, creating a continuous body of work over time.
You will:
- Develop drawing and painting skills through guided exercises
- Learn to observe like an artist and translate what you see
- Work from seasonal nature themes and outdoor inspiration
- Build a personal sketchbook and layered artwork over 5 weeks
Explore contemporary approaches to landscape and mixed media
