Join us for the second event in our Nature Talk series, where experts will speak on the history and culture that surrounds our local environment, the animals that live there, and the ways our attitudes towards nature have changed over time. This session will also take a wider look at seasonal traditions and ancient celebrations connected to the natural calendar, such as the equinox, solstice, and Imbolc.
It’s a chance to reflect on how people have related to the land across generations, and to think about the role green spaces continue to play in our lives today. Whether you’re interested in wildlife, local history, seasonal traditions, or simply want to learn more about the natural world around you, this talk promises plenty to spark curiosity and conversation.
As part of On The Hill’s Summer of Nature, a community-led programme running from May to August, this event sits within a wider season of creative, practical, and educational activities designed to connect local residents with nature, sustainability, and each other. Together, we’re celebrating our green spaces while exploring simple, meaningful ways to care for them.
