Nature Photography Hike
About this Event
Plan now to attend a family friendly, guided nature and photography hike at Crosby Island Marsh Preserve, one of Orange County’s Green PLACE properties, on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. During this guided hike, participants of all skill levels, whether using a smartphone or a camera, will have the chance to capture local wildlife and beautiful natural landscapes throughout the preserve. We’ll visit the newly constructed observation pier overlooking a basin marsh in hopes of photographing a Little Blue Heron or Sandhill Crane.
Along the way, we’ll share easy, beginner friendly nature photography tips, including how to work with natural lighting, frame wildlife respectfully, and use creative angles to highlight the unique features of wetland habitats. It’s a great opportunity to learn new photography techniques, enjoy the outdoors, and experience the preserve’s natural beauty.
As part of the inaugural Green PLACE Hiking Spree, attending the “Nature Photography Hike” will help you get closer to earning rewards for hiking Green PLACE properties. The event runs from National Public Lands Day on September 26, 2026, to Earth Day on April 22, 2027. The Green PLACE Hiking Spree is a great way to discover the remarkable variety of landscapes, plants and wildlife of Orange County.
