A Word From the Artist:
Born and raised on a kibbutz in Israel, my childhood was deeply connected to nature, spent taking long walks and bike rides through the kibbutz fields and fish pools. My parents, both avid nature lovers, shared their extensive knowledge of the area's flora and fauna, fostering my appreciation for the natural world.
My work explores themes of nature and habitats, nostalgia and longing. Each piece emerges through a process of layering paint and found materials. I alternate between applying paint and adhering fragments of paper, often covering these layers with additional paint before introducing new elements. This process blends spontaneity with intentional planning. The birds, deer, other animals, and vegetation in my art are inspired by my current surroundings. I also incorporate old photographs and letters from my mother and her family, as well as pages from Hebrew children's books and snippets of text from vintage magazines. These fragments take on new meaning within the context of the canvas, transforming their original significance into something entirely fresh.
Now based in Northern California, I am a mixed-media artist with a degree in Art Education and a focus on printmaking from Beit Berl College, School of Art in Israel.
