Jen recently earned the Nature Journaling Educator Certificate through the Wild Wonder Foundation. She will lead us through the basic skills of Nature Journaling and align them with what she refers to as Science Journaling, the skill of documenting any phenomena.
Dr. Jen Fowler is a lifelong naturalist and educator with a passion for sharing science with a variety of formal and informal audiences. This is Jen’s 27th year in science education, most while teaching middle school science in Rapid City, and currently as Assistant Professor of Science Education at Black Hills State University where she is preparing the next generation of K-12 science teachers.
In the summers, Jen can be found wandering on public lands while leading bird hikes, conducting bird surveys, and traveling the country for birds. (Some time ago, she did a presentation for the Norbeck Society about her 2006 Osprey research with South Dakota Game Fish & Parks.)
