Come to Georges River Land Trust's Nature Fest, a 2-day, immersive learning experience designed to bring the whole family closer to nature on July 25 and 26, from 8:30 -3:30 p.m., at the Langlais Art Preserve in Cushing. Attendees will select from 14 different sessions led by subject matter experts, including introductions to local fish and forests, backyard conservation with native plants, composting, and nature journaling. Kids will enjoy interacting with hunting dogs, landscaping goats and sea creatures in a tidal touch tank.The workshops will be anchored by a keynote speech from Ivonne Vazquez, MOFGA Board member and co-owner of Bas Rouge Farm & Forge. A climate roundtable will include frontline perspectives on climate change from Chris Cash, Executive Director of the Lobster Institute, Barry Brusilla, forestry consultant, and others.
