Schedule of events for all ages:
5:15 - 6:00 p.m. - Grundy Center High School Commons
- Tech Expert Table - parents can learn about social media trends, privacy features, configuring phones with safeguards, blocking explicit content on home wi-fi routers and more.
- Connect with the Iowa Heritage Foundation
- Water Station - Kids activity
6:15 - 7:30 p.m.
Keynote Speaker - Dr. Patrick Swanson, professor and program director of medical microbiology and immunology at Creighton University School of Medicine. Auditorium
Explore the concept of Nature as Medicine - including principles, challenges and best practices of Nature Prescription; Concept and application of Restorative Recreation to promote individual, community and ecological wellness.
Intended for high school/college students, adults, etc. - Continuing Education: Nursing CE and CME for Providers
Options for kids during the Keynote Speaker:
- YMCA Adventure Camp - for kids ages 5-12 years old: South Gym Kids can attend while parents listen to keynote address in the Auditorium; Kids MUST PRE-REGISTER.
- Activity/Program by Grundy County Conservation - for middle school age kids: Commons
- Childcare options for kids 4 and under is being explored so that parents can attend the key note in the auditorium. More information to come.
This is a free event but registration is required for planning purposes.
