Natural Dyeing: A hands-on workshop
About this Event

Come join us in-person at Little Platte Catholic Worker Farm in Platteville for a fun and informative workshop on natural dyeing.

Plants can create a wide range of lasting colors to dye your clothes and more! Learn about dyeing with plants grown here on the farm or in your garden. We will learn about how dyes bond with natural fibers and try several dying techniques. Bring a 100% natural material item (wool, silk, cotton, or linen) to dye a shade of light blue with fresh indigo! We will also provide fabric pretreated to absorb natural dyes so you can experiment with other dye methods such as dye baths and eco-printing.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided.

The class takes place at our 35-acre community farm outside of Platteville, WI, where you can meet an aray of farm critters and explore our small-scale vegetable farm.
