PRINCE PAULFellow innovator Steinski called this man “the closest thing hip-hop has to a genius.” By the age of ten, Prince Paul’s pals were comparing him to Grandmaster Flash. He had to convince them otherwise, and has been challenging people’s preconceptions about hip hop ever since: from his scratches in Stetsasonic to his groundbreaking production with De La Soul, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Gravediggaz, and many more. Heads should take note that rebellion and money were never the focus – even hip-hop itself wasn’t the focus. As he says during this lecture at the 2003 Red Bull Music Academy, “the focus, that was always the music.” He is known for sampling from a wide range of genres. Rapper Biz Markie once said of Paul's production style, "Prince Paul's contribution to hip-hop is that you could use records that weren't by James Brown or just break-beats." Hip hop skit inventor and producer of 3 Grammy award winning albums. "Best Producer Of The Year” in 1990 New York Music Awards in addition to numerous gold and platinum plaques. Born in Queens, NY and raised in Amityville, Long island – started djing at the age of 10. The rest is Hip-Hop history.DANTE ROSSDante Ross is a music producer and pioneering hip-hop A&R executive. During his time at Tommy Boy and Elektra Records he played a pivotal role in the success of acts such as De La Soul, Brand Nubian, Busta Rhymes, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, MF Doom, Everlast, and Old Dirty Bastard, Queen Latifah, and Busta Rhymes. In his new autobiography titled "Son of The City," he recounts with vivid detail his formative years growing up on Manhattan's Lower East Side and his involvement with the vibrant subcultures of skateboarding, punk rock, and hip-hop. He contributed to iconic albums like Carlos Santana's 20 X platinum Supernatural and Eminem's 8 Mile, which helped sell over 50 million records. His journey encompasses 16 platinum and gold albums, shaping the musical landscape. Beyond music, he's marked his stamp in diverse industries, as Creative Director at Loud.com, Director of Marketing at 10Deep clothing, and VP of Marketing at Famous Stars & Straps. His expertise extends to multimedia collaborations with entities like Red Bull, Scion, and Universal Records.RASTA ROOTDj Rasta Root travelled the world for the first 30 years of his life with his parents. He was exposed to various languages and cultures. Having lived in countries such as Canada, Guatemala, Brazil, England, Holland, Abu Dhabi, Spain and Japan. And it is with the 1200 turntable that he has the ability to seamlessly mix and deliver an aural soundscape that truly touches peoples’ souls. Rasta Root often says that his method of mixing is simple arithmetic with a touch of soul. His music productions can be heard on a myriad of platforms such as Disney, ABC, Netflix, 2K and many more. He also had the privilege of executive producing Phife’s posthumous album, “Forever”.
