About this Event
1000 LIGHTS for 1000 LIVES
On International Overdose Awareness Day, Mothers Against Drug Addiction & Deaths (MADAAD.org) invites you to our 4th Annual Sunset Vigil, "1000 Lights for 1000 Lives." This poignant event serves as a powerful testament to the lives tragically lost to overdose in our community and a beacon of hope for those still struggling.
We gather to honor each precious life, recognizing that every light tells a story. This year, we will be creating personalized luminaries to memorialize each individual lost to overdose in the city of San Francisco during this past year. Your participation helps us shine a collective light on the devastating overdose crisis, raising awareness and fostering a sense of community for grieving families and allies.
What to Expect:
- A heartfelt ceremony of remembrance.
- The opportunity to personalize a luminary in memory of a loved one.
- A collective display of "1000 Lights for 1000 Lives" illuminating the steps of City Hall.
- Guest speakers sharing messages of hope, prevention, and advocacy.
- A supportive community united against drug addiction and overdose deaths.
ALL ARE WELCOME. Whether you have lost a loved one, are in recovery, or stand as an ally in the fight against the overdose crisis, your presence is invaluable.
Let us stand together, remember those we've lost, and reaffirm our commitment to ending this crisis.
Please RSVP to help us prepare accordingly.
