Native Seed Giveaway

You can expand your garden and support local wildlife by growing plants for butterflies, bees and birds. So come get free native seeds, see information about many different species, and take home information sheets about how to winter sow.

It's not too late for winter sowing! We suggest you sow the seeds in pots and put them outside as soon as you can, so the seeds can experience enough weeks of cold.

Seeds were freshly collected in 2025, and many come from our community garden at Knob Hill Park.

This event is not organized by the Toronto Public Library. It is organized by the neighbourhood group Bendale Butterflyway.
