This free community event will be led by Seed Library planning team member Don Gustafson, who is also a member of the Board of Wild Ones of the Door Peninsula. The event will start in the Collins Learning Center with a short overview of the importance of native plants and how to collect seeds. Then, Don and other Seed Library volunteers will lead a tour of the meadow at Crossroads and help participants to identify various native seeds that can be harvested. Seed Library volunteers will also distribute free packets of native seeds and native seed handouts, including how to winter sow your seeds in milk jugs – yes, you can sow your seeds outside over the winter!
Participants should bring gloves and clippers. We will provide paper sacks and pens for you to collect and label your seeds. Meet in the Collins Learning Center.
