Project Description:

Join us in planting native seedlings to help plant communities and habitat! The Vegetation Program at Rocky Mountain National Park restores disturbed sites throughout the park to preserve native vegetation, protect our soils, and prevent spread of invasives species. We respond to areas that have been degraded due construction, human use, or severe natural events. Established in the 1980s and guided by a management plan, our program focuses on using locally collected native plant materials to ensure ecological integrity. This summer, you can make a meaningful contribution to RMNP's biodiversity while gaining experience in conservation practices. Join us and be part of preserving the natural beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park for future generations!

What to Expect:

Volunteers will be planting native plant seedlings within a disturbed site at Glacier Basin Campground in exposed conditions (full sun, rain, wind). Planting will involve moving seedlings from trucks to the work site, kneeling, digging with hand tools, and attention to careful planting techniques.

Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm

Parking/meeting location: Meet at Beaver Meadows Visitor Center at 9:00 AM. All participants will be carpooling to the work site at Glacier Basin Campground.
